Would the a member of the Royal Family be allowed to engage in a same- relationship?

@CL it is legal in the UK. People of the same can have civil partnerships. I'm not sure it would be accepted for a royal to do it. They are a symbol of Protestantism and it would go against it. I think Elton John was more Diana's friend than the royal family in general. I bet William invited him, in respect to his Mother.
