Why is it that immature, insecure and underconfident people always see?

Maybe they had to start fighting since they were a little child, and they have been doing battle ever since, from family to employers to in laws. Maybe they don't realize that life is just life, in their mind every situation is an attack on them. I don't think they probably realize they are doing it, it is probably a defense mechanism.
